Yesterday I had my first 'final'--tricky like skateboard moves! But whatevz, I got through it. After that I finished an assignment and watched Adventureland at Rainbow aka ghetto-arc-of-light? lol. $8.00 admits two people? sickkk.
The movie was alright. I was expecting to walk into a full-out comedy, but it ended up being an indie-ish movie, much like that of 'Nick & Norah's' or 'Juno'...
Like all indie-feel movies, it had a solid script and solid acting. As well as a solid plot, I must say. For me, it may have sacrificed some comedy for content and quality...
Often times, the plot development overshadows the impact of the comedy. Like I didn't laugh as much at some things because the plot was pretty serious at times...
The movie's actually pretty insightful on life. Some lines kinda hit me, in terms of being thought provoking to me. I just can't remember the lines; probably when they give input on life--like knowing what you have and cherishing it and stuff...
It also shows the reality of the difficulties after graduating and how times are rough coming out the gate [graduating]. It holds relevance to our society's economic state because it takes place in the late 80's during U.S. economic-crisis and stockmarket-crash times...
Mr. Reynolds is in creep mode, Bella Swan is in whore mode (lol) and lead-character-guy is in Michael Cera mode lol. He reminds me a lot of Cera by his voice and the demeanor in which he speaks, lol...
Overall, it had the potential to be really good, but it didn't really stand out to me. So, all in all, it was alright; closer to good, definitely far from bad.
Let's keep it 80's, this song plays during one of the early scenes. I actually have this on my comp, lol. 80's rock, lets go...
Crowded House - "Don't Dream It's Over" [Live]
Above is a live performance of Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House. Just been my head since after the movie. I was actually contemplating on collapsing the vid because I'm scared that 80's rockstar fashion and haircuts will offset the whole swag of evertyhing lol.
I'm out like one giant-ass panda...
