'No Longer Necessary To Try To Impress. If They Like Me The Way I Am, That's Good. If They Don't, That's Too Bad'...

Today, (Wednesday) in my homeland of the Philippines, was a big day. The whole country stopped and mourned for the passing of former president Corazon Aquino who passed a few days ago from colon cancer.

She was very religious as many Filipinos are and a hero to entire nation...

"Faith is not simply a patience that passively suffers until the storm is past. Rather, it is a spirit that bears things - with resignations, yes, but above all, with blazing, serene hope"
I honestly didn't know who she was until she died and my parents told me about her life. She did a lot for the Philippines and during her term she pulled the nation of the Philippines out of dictatorship. She over-threw Ferdinand Marcos, a ruthless and historic dictator who declared martial law.

Her husband was the first to run against Marcos to become president and was later assassinated after returning to the Philippines from exile in the US. After that, Cory Aquino ran for presidency herself; but lost. However, the only reason she lost was because of Marcos' corruption and deception. Cory then led the 'People Power' movement to overthrow the Marcos government and succeeded. A true Filipino hero...
"I would rather die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life"

The Obama track makes the bonus cuts and no Jockin Jay-Z like what was first proclaimed. You know the street stuff is dropping first. Like, I foresee the Nas track leaking to tease the fcuk outta everyone. Clever title though for a track with god's son.

I'm out like the third Blueprint next month...

The Game Of Chess Is Like A Sword Fight, You Must Think Before You Move...

Personally, this is probably one of the greatest video's I've ever seen. This video is very well-done. It's a Lego version of Wu-Tang Clan's 'Da Mystery of Chessboxin' off one of my favourite albums ever Enter The 36 Chambers...

Wu-Tang Clan Lego - "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'"

Let's throw it back to 1993. Here's the original video for Da Mystery of Chessboxin. It's amazing how some scenes are shot-for-shot, wow...

Lastly is an emphasis on the shot-for-shot...

Thanks to DarthSolow for the 2Dope heads up, cause that site is too busy to keep my attention lol.

The Only Thing That's On My Mind, Is Who's Gonna Run This Town Tonight...

ESPN gives a preview of Manny Pacquiao's next fight. The pound for pound king hits the ring on November 14th against, a beast, Miguel Cotto...

ESPN Pacquiao vs. Cotto Preview

Cotto's only defeat was when he lost his WBA Welterweight Championship at the hands of Antonio Margarito in 2008; this was an amazing fight. Definitely one of my fave fights of the year second only to Pacquiao/Marquez II, damn.

The Pacman was recently recieved the ESPY award for Best Fighter at the 2009 ESPY's. Other fighters nominated were MMA fighters Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva, as well as, fellow boxer 'Sugar' Shane Mosely.

I'm out like a 143lb catch weight fight...

We Are, Yeah I Said It 'We Are', This Is Roc Nation, Pledge Your Allegiance...

This brought me outta blogging limbo. The Blueprint III is taking it there. This is the complete music I miss. Good flow, decent lyrics, good beat, good hook, good melody.

Hov's first single off BP3. It's such a nasty track. Jigga's flow is so crisp--everyone says 'he's not raw anymore'. It's a new time; not super lyrical, but he still carries that swagger to every verse consistently. 'Ye provides a Ye-like verse and Rih Rih's chorus/hook is fire, oh man...

Jay-Z - "Run This Town" [Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West]

Kanye most likely on the production credit. I hope the whole LP is as nice as this track. Not cut in half like Kingdom Come.

Wrong, This Ain’t Politically Correct, This Might Offend My Political Connects...

I wanna see this footage so badly. Apparantly at LeBron James' summer camp, Xavier's Jordon Crawford dunked on 'King' James himself. The reason there's no footage LeBitch James told all the Nike representatives to confiscate all footage. Weak...

Jordan Crawford Speaks on Lebron James Dunk

Honestly, so what!?!? Are you that concerned about your image? Remember when Devin Harris (my fave pg) got beat byt some street ball player!? He just laughed about it like a good sport...

Devin Harris vs. Stuart Tanner

Weak LBJ, my respect for you continues to diminish. You're not even that good in all honesty. You dominated the league on athleticism, where's you skill set at? When you're old and lose your athleticism, its a wrap on your career, it has no longevity at this rate.

Here's LBJ's good friend? Jay-Z. He's also not happy with his whackness. Here's Death of Autotune video. Very street, very fitting...

Star From Scratch? Choose A Look-a-like?...

Mike Songs from Kaba Modern does some tutting to Mii Channel music, lol--pretty nasty...

I'm out like game data when Mii's die at the Mii channel...

Here Today Gone Tomorrow, But You Gotta Walk A Thousand Miles..

My favourite track off Relapse, the only one Eminem put the 808's and samples to...

The entire video was shot in Mo-Town aka Motor City aka the D aka Detroit Rock City aka Detroit...

Eminem - "Beautiful"

Relapse still lyrically smashes 09. Not jock riding, but Drake might bring lyrical heat. He's pretty impressive at times. 'You would block me, but this ain't Jenga?' triple entendre!?..and the whole Digital Girl verse is there--clever stuff, very consistent verse.

I'm out like anyone's doubt in your state of beauty...

Battle-Scarred Shogun, Explosion When My Pen Hits, Tremendous...

Yesterday was a pretty good day til near the end of my night I must say. Life is effing annoying sometimes. Sadly, I went into my exam very unprepared and did what was expected and kinda bombed it =S I went in with a 70 though, I hope it'll stick. *crosses fingers to pass the last course of first year*. Now I can just hope and yet again pray for a miracle; anyways...

I have no effing sense of direction too far south; simply because I don't go down there for anything. So obv I got completely mind fcucked. The irony is that when we were heading down I was listing all the things wrong with my car and bashing it's 'drive-ability'. Saying, 'I don't think anyone would wanna drive my car'. And now most likely, no one can...

Factors?
Honestly I lost control. Didn't Couldn't see what was ahead, missed signs, and probably didn't slow down enough (not that i was even speeding). Slick road, ridiculous defog system, bald tires, terrible breaks; all contributed to it.

Prevention? The only 'DANGER' sign illuminated by my headlights was far away and not relevant to the road. So it threw my off looking at that sign. Through my semi-fogged windshield I tried to find the sharp turn that was indicated up ahead, and ironically, it found me.

Damage? Wheel bashed into framework of car. So close that there's no allowance for movement of the wheel. Undriveable.

Plus side? Honestly, there's no plus to this. Other then the cliche 'no one got hurt'. No one's suppose to get hurt, I don't get into accidents =S, I'm not a careless driver. So that's bullsh!t and unfortunate that this happened =( I see no plus right now.

Aftermath? No car for a while.

Afterthoughts? Oh man, I'm like mad defeated right now. I'm kinda depressed that this is how I kick off summer 09. I'm trying not to dwell, but honestly, the replay button is worn out in my head. I'm in this weird hole, like, I'm haating life right now.

I'm out like me in a drivers seat for a while...

Coming Back, Humming His Hymns A Little Altered...

So there is officially a website up for the we are not losers, we are LASERS movement. It steams from the release of Lasers in December, which is Lupe Fiasco's 3rd studio album. He nixed the whole LUPE.N.D. concept and developed this one...

He made it a positive movement. He even has a 'manifesto' revolving around dismissing the title of 'losers' and establishing a more positive mind-state of being lasers; a more positive title that promotes a more affirmative lifestyle...
Lasers are the opposite of losers. Lasers are shining beams of light that burn through the darkness of ignorance. Lasers shed light on injustice and inequality. Losers stand by and let things happen. Lasers act and shape their own destinies. Lasers find meaning and direction in the mysteries all around them. Lasers stand for love and compassion. Lasers stand for peace. Lasers stand for progression. Lasers are revolutionary.
Lasers Are The Future.
As for the manifesto? I'm cool with it, it has a direction. I look at it as not something intended to be followed; nor as Lupe trying to be a preacher. I see it as opinion on a direction to live an ideal life. So I'm cool with it...

Lupe Fiasco - The "LASERS" Manifesto

This first single, Shining Down off Lasers is hitting iTunes and wherever on July 7th. The current version out is the unmastered/unfinished verison. It features FNF's Matthew Santos...
