I'll Get More Indepth If You Boys Really Real Enough...

This kinda blew my mind sideways...

Jay-Z, Rhapsody Commercial

So creative and wow, so genius. How do they do this stuff? Plus 100 for starting with my two faves...

My fave rapper since I fell hard into hip hop; The Blueprint took me in. 10 solo LP's. GOAT. Get educated.

I'm out like BP3 next week...

I'm The Only One And Don't Nobody Else Believe It, Then Keep It A Secret And Watch Me Achieve It...

It's only fitting that this video drops while I'm killing time at school. My school time anthem...

Drake - "Successful" [Feat. Trey Songz]

I'm telling you, it's like this era's Best of Both Worlds. The track is off of Trey Songz's 3rd LP Ready, which is dropping tomorrow. I've been spinning it for the past weeks [pause] and I love it; and will support.

Right now I'm at school running errands. Gotta get mentally ready for this stuff come next week--I have to kill it this year. I can honestly say I'm scared but I must stay motivated. Family pride, starting my life, massive student debt etc. That's what is driving me to do this school thing properly...

I can't eff around anymore and I have to concentrate on what I'm doing. I read a sentence on something at Chapters; something along the lines of:
"Instead of trying to find yourself, try losing yourself in the moment..."

I adopted it as my new approach to school because I tend to get so caught up in the future that I forget to pay attention to what's happening right now. I overlook what's going on in the present and don't give 100% effort. That's one of my biggest faults--I just gotta apply myself. Let's go.

I'm out like summer vacay next week...

As Time Goes By, An Eye For An Eye...

So right now, I just finished watching a show on MTV Canada a show called Pranked, which premiered today. The show basically shows amateur videos of people pranking other people and recording it on film--pretty amusing...

Anyways, the hosts of the show are CollegeHumor's Amir and Streeter. I am familiar with these two because of their viral Prank Wars that some school friends turned my attention to a while back...

Here are two of my favourite Prank Wars episodes; 'The Infamous Yankee Prankee' and 'The Half Court Shot' (episode 6 & 7 respectively)...

In 'The Infamous Yankee Prankee' Amir gets control over the jumbo-tron at a Yankee game that Streeter is at with his long-term girlfriend. The prank is, during a break in the 5th inning, a message appears where Streeter will propose to his girlfriend without his knowledge. Frggen cold-blooded. And Hilarity ensues...

Prank Wars 6 - The Infamous Yankee Prankee

In 'The Half Court Shot' Amir is given the opportunity to win a $500,000 shot by hitting a half-court shot blind-folded during a timeout an NCAA game. The prank is when Amir misses the shot, Streeter tells the crowd beforehand to erupt and act as if the he made the shot and won the money. Damn clever. Oh yeah, and hilarity ensues...

Prank Wars 7 - The Half Court Shot

Swimming In The Money Come And Find Me, Nemo...

Yet again I'm pulled out of blogging limbo for a hot song. I'm sorry, this is a show-steeler. Not a LBJ fan so im hating the rough artwork...

Drake - "Forever" [Feat. Kanye West, Lil' Wayne & Eminem]

"It's the martian, Space Jam Jordans..."-weezy

Weezy's opening half bar was ill to me, just cause it made me think of Marvin the Martian stealing Air Jordans lol! (Aquas are still one of my fave)...

"Nike Air Jordan VIII" Commercial

Heath Ledger's Final Bow...

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a film written and directed by Terry Gilliam. It stars the late Heath Ledger. Sadly, Ledger's death occurred during filimg and only one third of filming was completed. After a hiatus, Gilliam replaced the late actor with heavyweight actors; Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law. He re-wrote the script to incorporate the three actors as transformations of the main character...

The movie looks very interesting and is set to releases on October 16, 2009 . It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year...

"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" Trailer

Heath passed before his prime. At least the world got to see his talent in The Dark Knight with his amazing portrayal of legendary villian, The Joker. His talent was not unnoticed as he swept the 2008 award season winning numerous Best Supporting Actor awards; including a statue from the Academy.

I'm out like four actors from under one mask...

And The Visual Is Stunning, I Hope They Document What I'm Becoming...

The super-pressured bearer of the torch Drizzy Drake is going to re-release his career propelling mixtape So Far Gone. He's adding a track at end the tape
with a segway in the last verse that leads to Thank Me Later...
“I did this song that no one has ever heard before, ever,” he explained. “[It's] a song called ‘Fear.’ I recorded it when I did So Far Gone — the first verse and half of the second verse I had gotten through. But then I just stopped because it was getting eerie. It was getting where I didn’t know if I could [finish it]. And then the other night I had a moment and I finished the song. That’s gonna be the last song on the retail [version of] So Far Gone. And the third verse transitions into Thank Me Later. So the last line of the third verse is gonna be the first line on my album.”
The mixtape was sold on iTunes without authorization in the past. The official retail version drops on September 15, 2009 and TML a couple months later--talk about 4th quarter heroics. Speaking of mixtapes that can be albums. Anticipation! that's all I'm gonna say, eeeyyyyyuuuuup!.

I'm out like So Far Gone in retail form...

The Sky Could Be Blue, I Don't Mind, Without You It's A Waste Of Time...

Here's yet another track off of Viva la Vida--it's not even off Prospkt's March. The album was released over a year ago and the singles keep coming, damn. Nonetheless, the song is dope...

Coldplay - "Strawberry Swing"

It's a stop-motion video that mixes stop motion and chalk drawings. The product is incredible. When it comes to videos Coldplay always stretches the norm, that's what I respect about them.

I'm out like Viva la Vida in June '08...

Anthony vs. GoTransit...

Usually I dig deep, and pull out a blog. But I honestly can't right now. I'm HELLA bored right now at school. So I guess I'll create my most boring blog to date and I'll talk about my morning a la first-person narrative because all this Engineering stuff has me missing English to a point where I'm considering English as an elective, ew. Maybe this will satisfy my yearning for English...

[...]

I woke up early this morning and--as a premeditated act--I went to downtown Toronto to my UofT campus (where I currently am). The reason for this trip is because the flood gates for elective registration for my program open tomorrow morning. I had some inquiries and what not to get out of the way before I made elective decisions...

Due to family bickering, I do not have access to a car, but I was lucky enough to get a ride to the GoTrain station this morning. As I boarded the train, I noticed a couple police officers aboard the train. I immediately checked my pocket for my unpunched ticket and I glanced out the window. I then gave up any attempts of running out of the train and back up the stairs to punch my ticket. So I painfully took my seat knowing they would check tickets some time during the ride and I would get a fine that I cannot afford. All that went through my head was that I'm screwed because I already have one warning from last summer. The time I forgot to punch my 10-ride on my way downtown for a concert...

Now in my seat, I spent the whole time giving the illusion that I was sleeping while I contemplated what I would say to the officer that would approach me. As the officer walked up to my seating area repeating the words 'we're checking tickets', I pretended to slowly gain attentiveness as if I was just interrupted from a good nap...

After the woman officer saw me, she demanded to see my ticket. I took my time and eventually pulled out my ticket
after checking two pockets without success; although I already knew where it was. In my hand was the double-sided 2-ride ticket. It was very fresh and it was indeed unpunched...

As I looked a the ticket, I gave an expression of confusion and pretended to read the ticket and said 'I didn't punch it, I thought I got a day pass because they were the same price'. She looked and me with a little empathy and told me to just punch the ticket when I get off the train. I was overcame with a little relief...

Then she said, 'as procedure, I need some ID to check if this has happened before'. In a bit of defeat I handed her my driver's license and confessed to my past warning before she could speak into her walkie-talkie...

Over some interference, the voice of the device said, in code, that I got a warning in May of 2008 for not punching my ticket. Had it been August 2008 I would've received a fine of $110-$500. Which is a serious economic blow to a second year student...

In desperation, I continued with my not-very-thought-out excuse, 'I usually get 10-rides and monthlys, so I'm unfamiliar with the system of 2-rides and day passes'...

With curiosity the lady officer said ,'well you must be familiar with the system if you know the difference between a day pass and a 2-ride.' [damn you!] 'Next time, know what you are asking for at the ticket booth' [I did know I wanted a 2-ride] 'I'm going to be nice again and write you your second warning' [you bastard]... efffff emmmm elllll...

'You're Not Funny..Comedy Is For Funny People'...

This is the main movie I've been waiting to see this summer. Everyone is a fan of the Apatow produced movies, and they're all established as comedic hits. However, as a big fan of Judd Apatow the director; needless to say I went in with high hopes...

I did the usual pre-research looking at reviews. I didn't doubt it would be good until I saw the review saying 'not funny', 'horrible movie, long, confusing', 'laughed at 2/100 jokes' stuff like that...

Honestly my mind is blown. It did not disappoint in any way for me, I'm aware of potential bias, but that's not the case. When Apatow directs, there's heart and substance. Knocked Up has heart and a realness. 40 Year-Old Virgin was more of a comedy but it also had heart in terms of empathizing with the character. Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared were two series with substance and potential.

The title Funny People and the casting must have threw people off. They were expecting an all-out comedy of funnymen, Sandler and Rogan headlining. This is not the case. Funny People is a drama, I guess that's where the disconnect is.

Adam Sandler is solid I must say. He shows that he can act and is not just over-the-top funny. Seth Rogan's character is hilarious in terms of being awkwardly real. He's just a normal modest guy with a lot of heart.

Basically, George is an established comedian and finds out he is terminally ill. By a little fate he meets Ira while reverting back to stand-up for self-fulfillment purposes. He eventually hires Ira as his assistant. From there the story progresses.

Both characters go through a lot of character development. Rogan's character Ira Wright becomes a more confident person as the movie progresses in his stand-up career. Also, Sandler's character George Simmons becomes compassionate and grateful for his success and wealth.

Sandler's main character, undergoes a near-death experience and it pushes a lot of buttons and evokes a lot of emotions.

The storyline is solid for the most part and extremely layered and active. If you do leave your seat you'll miss plot development, maybe that's what people didn't like also. (The only hole in plot for me is when Leslie Mann's character tries to hide Sandler's secret of being well to prevent Eric Bana from snapping? meh.)

It gets a +100 from me for casting The RZA as a minor role as Rogan's co-worker at 'Otto's' lol. It also stars Jonah Hill, Leslie Mann and Nero himself, Eric Bana.

I found the movie to be frggn hilarious, like all the jokes were on-point. If I had a quarter for every dick joke, oh man non-stop, lol. Don't get it twisted, they were funny jokes and as tasteful as dick-jokes can get.

The movie is sad in terms of getting let down by life. The moral mistakes you make in life are crucial and you can never get them back, you can only learn and grow from them.

Overall, it's a very real movie. I really enjoyed it. It was hilarious and at the same time had substance. I'm still big on 'Judd Apatow the Director' despite reviews by closed-minded movie-goers.

I'm out like people from their minds who thought FP was crap...

'No Longer Necessary To Try To Impress. If They Like Me The Way I Am, That's Good. If They Don't, That's Too Bad'...

Today, (Wednesday) in my homeland of the Philippines, was a big day. The whole country stopped and mourned for the passing of former president Corazon Aquino who passed a few days ago from colon cancer.

She was very religious as many Filipinos are and a hero to entire nation...

"Faith is not simply a patience that passively suffers until the storm is past. Rather, it is a spirit that bears things - with resignations, yes, but above all, with blazing, serene hope"
I honestly didn't know who she was until she died and my parents told me about her life. She did a lot for the Philippines and during her term she pulled the nation of the Philippines out of dictatorship. She over-threw Ferdinand Marcos, a ruthless and historic dictator who declared martial law.

Her husband was the first to run against Marcos to become president and was later assassinated after returning to the Philippines from exile in the US. After that, Cory Aquino ran for presidency herself; but lost. However, the only reason she lost was because of Marcos' corruption and deception. Cory then led the 'People Power' movement to overthrow the Marcos government and succeeded. A true Filipino hero...
"I would rather die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life"

The Obama track makes the bonus cuts and no Jockin Jay-Z like what was first proclaimed. You know the street stuff is dropping first. Like, I foresee the Nas track leaking to tease the fcuk outta everyone. Clever title though for a track with god's son.

I'm out like the third Blueprint next month...
